Job Description
Job Title: Primary Teacher (PRT)
Job Summary:
The Primary Teacher is responsible for teaching young learners (typically Classes I–V) and creating a supportive, engaging, and safe learning environment that supports students’ academic, social, and emotional development.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan and deliver age-appropriate lessons as per the school curriculum
- Teach core subjects such as English, Mathematics, EVS, and/or other assigned subjects
- Use interactive and creative teaching methods to enhance learning
- Assess students’ progress through tests, assignments, and observations
- Maintain accurate records of attendance, performance, and behavior
- Support students’ overall development and encourage positive values
- Manage classroom discipline and ensure a safe learning environment
- Communicate regularly with parents about student progress
- Participate in school activities, meetings, and training programs
- Prepare teaching aids, worksheets, and learning materials
Qualifications & Skills:
- Bachelor’s degree (preferably with B.Ed / D.El.Ed)
- Relevant teaching certification as per school/board norms
- Strong communication and classroom management skills
- Patience, creativity, and a child-friendly approach
- Basic computer skills and familiarity with digital teaching tools
